Over the fall break, I spent the weekend with my friends Karen, Emma and Tyler in Marquette, Michigan. We spent a few nights at Karen's parent's house on Lake Independence, camping at Rippling River Resort for a night.
Highlights of the trip include:
Hammocking next to Rippling River (my first time setting up a hammock in a tree)
Discovering the hidden gem Echo Lake, which was emerged in the middle of the woods - We climbed to the top of a hill overlooking the lake, meditating, chatting and basking in the sun
Venturing through Black Rocks
The 'She-Shed'
Trying a UP staple Pastie
Stopping at Phil's 550 Store and picking fresh apples right off of a tree
Jamming and learning about Buddhism around the campfire (attachment is the root of all suffering)
Karen's mom's chili
Here are some of my favorite pictures from the weekend:
Finally, here is my post-trip playlist which includes bops we played in the car, songs that were strummed around the fire, and tracks that align with the overall experience of fall in the UP. Enjoy!
