I am so pleased to introduce my new Ann Arbor based band Tea & Sympathy! We are all music students at UM SMTD, and play a mix of indie rock, punk and funk music.
Our debut performance was on November 6th at the UM North Campus Escher Cooperative House, at their annual music festival Escherfest. The crowd favorites of this set were our arrangement of Can't Take My Eyes off You by Frankie Valli, which combined Miss Lauryn Hill's funk cover with the original, as well as the middle school classic Still Into You by Paramore.
Our second performance was part of the Moonlight Madness event in downtown Ann Arbor at the local store Verbena. At this event, we performed a slower set which included countless Beatles tunes to honor the recent release of the documentary The Beatles: Get Back, standards such as If I Were a Bell, and the delicate Subside from Eloise's EP TTCL.
This group is a dream come true for me. I am learning so much about how to be an efficient band leader, and can not wait for our next performance after winter break!
